International Protection

Afghans are fleeing their country where they can no longer live due to the current situation. We offer refugees tools and resources so they can navigate the asylum process and understand requirements and procedures.

We advocate for, advise and accompany Afghan people seeking asylum at the Spanish embassy; this involves helping to prepare for the interview to request International Protection and transfer to Spain under article 38 of the Spanish asylum law.

Using our extensive knowledge of Article 38, we work with Spanish embassies around the world to support families going through the process.

Reception

When Afghan families arrive to Madrid or Barcelona, they request asylum and can join the Spanish International Protection program if there are vacancies.  The program is structured in different phases.

PEOPLEHELP helpers accompany families through the required administrative procedures so they can access existing resources from both public and private local organizations. We also provide emotional support during their integration into Spanish life and society.

Pakistan

Families at risk of death at the hands of the Taliban flee from Afghanistan. They do this mainly through Pakistan where they often have to wait for months or years to get to their final destination. They live in a state of uncertainty and emotional stress, without access to financial support and dependent upon the goodwill of local organizations to cover their basic needs.

Afghanistan

The current situation in Afghanistan, since the Taliban took power, is unsustainable for the population. We focus on the vulnerability of widowed women and on the visibility and awareness of the real situation in the eyes of the world and the international community.
